I'm an official "cuber"...

Nate is OBSESSED with the rubix cube! So naturally, on the 4th of July, while we were waiting for the fireworks, the lessons began...

Here are Nate's skills on camera. Very intimidating, but he's an amazing (and very patient) teacher...

He taught me the different sets of rules throughout the months, and slowly (very slowly) I completed one row at a time! It didn't take long before I became obsessed as well. Just recently, I mastered the cube, and can now call myself an official "cuber"!

I have to do whatever Nate does, so here's the video to document (and prove) my cubing abilities...

I understand completely that only certain people will be excited about this news (actually, probably only Nate) but I wanted to share my excitement :) Now we can relax, and maybe catch up on some sleep!

10 Steps to the Perfect Day...

Step Number One: Wake up at 5:00 in the morning.

Step Number Two: Drive 2.5 hours up to the mountains.

Step Number Three: Run a half marathon.

Step Number Four: Or... instead you can study for the million tests you have coming up.

Step Number Five: Drive up to Keystone Resort, and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL trees!

Step Number Six: Eat at a local "hole in the wall" (which is my new favorite thing to do!).

Step Number Seven: Ride the gondola to the top of Keystone.

Step Number Eight: Explore the top of the mountain with someone who you're particularly fond of :).
Step Number Nine: Upon return to the city, relax in the hot tub.

Step Number Ten: Fall asleep by ten, dreaming of the breathtaking trees :).

Follow these ten steps, and you'll have the perfect day! It really was a perfect day, and an amazing weekend overall. Even though my tan is fading fast, I love this time of year!

Taste of Colorado...

Nate and I have been doing a lot of cooking lately... some nights more successful than others!

So when the annual "Taste of Colorado" came to town, we were so excited to have the break! My mom and dad took us out with Macy and Daveed, and it was such a fun night. Taste of Colorado is exactly as it sounds... you get a little taste of EVERYTHING. Here are the things we ate...

  1. BBQ sandwich
  2. corn on the cob (my dad's favorite)
  3. pizza (my favorite)
  4. cheesecake on a stick
  5. berry kabob (drizzled in chocolate)
  6. snow-cone (my other favorite!)
Taste of Colorado is such a fun night all around. The Taste of Colorado is not only about eating amazing food, seeing some cool shops, watching interesting people, or listening to live music, but I think the best part is that I get to hang out with my family! Most people that get a "taste of Colorado" fall in love with the place... permanently!

Can I have a "do-over"?...

This is what I envisioned when Nate requested a cake in the shape of a tooth!

This is what he got...

BOO!!!!! Can I have a do-over?!?!

John Mayer Concert...

John Mayer came to Denver to perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre last week!

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a breathtaking outdoor venue in Morrison, Colorado. The picture below shows this amazing arena!

Nate and I decided to go... but we didn't have to pay for any tickets!

We packed a picnic dinner, and hiked up the back of the venue. Because it's outdoor, they can't monitor the radius of the venue, and therefore people (like us) hike up the back to listen to the concert for free!

We got all the way to the back perimeter, where we could hear the music. We were super close, up against the back wall of the venue. This lasted for about 30 minutes before a man with a massive spotlight found us! He yelled at us for trespassing, so we had to "leave". We left... we walked about 10 yards and ducked behind an enormous boulder! We hid there for the remainder of the concert.

We couldn't see John Mayer, and actually, we could barely hear the songs that were being played, but the night was beyond incredible!

Do you smell something?...

For some reason this summer, we took a lot of pictures smelling our armpits! It became a game to smell your armpit, and make a grotesque face. Don't ask! And NO ONE was exempt... Here are some silly pictures that make me laugh :)

The lesson learned: you're never too young to start wearing deodorant :)
